- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 4 burger buns, toasted
- Optional: shredded cheddar, jalapeños, hot sauce
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers; cook for 4–5 minutes until softened.
- Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
- Add ground chicken and cook, breaking it apart, until fully browned (6–8 minutes).
- Stir in tomato paste, Cajun seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Pour in chicken broth, mix well, and reduce heat. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning.
- Serve hot on toasted buns with optional toppings like cheese or jalapeños.
Notes
- Make it less spicy by reducing Cajun seasoning or adding a spoonful of honey.
- Leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 4 days or frozen for 2 months.
