Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese, room temperature
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips, melted
- 1/2 cup toasted hazelnuts, chopped
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt

- 2 tbsp Nutella or hazelnut spread (optional layer)
- Cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)
- Shaved chocolate or curls, for topping (optional)
Instructions

- Optionally, add 1 tsp of Nutella over the base in each cup.
- Melt chocolate chips in the microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, whip heavy cream to soft peaks. Set aside.
- In another bowl, beat mascarpone, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt until smooth.
- Add cooled chocolate to mascarpone mixture and blend until uniform.
- Gently fold in whipped cream until light and fluffy.
- Spoon or pipe the mixture over the crust layer in each cup.
- Chill for at least 30 minutes before serving.
- Garnish with cocoa powder, shaved chocolate, or more hazelnuts.
Notes
- To make it nut-free, use crispy rice or pretzels instead of hazelnuts.
- For gluten-free, use certified GF cookies.
- The filling can be prepared up to 24 hours in advance.
- Avoid freezing if you prefer a silky texture, but it can be done with minor texture trade-off.
- Great with espresso or as a make-ahead party dessert.
