  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (canola or vegetable oil)

Instructions

  • Pat shrimp dry with a paper towel.
  • In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Beat eggs in a second bowl and place panko breadcrumbs in a third.

  • Skewer each shrimp onto bamboo sticks if desired.
  • Heat oil in a deep pan to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry shrimp sticks in small batches for 2-3 minutes until golden brown.
  • Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free option, substitute all-purpose flour and breadcrumbs with gluten-free alternatives.
