Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread (sourdough, brioche, or white)
  • 4 tablespoons cream cheese (plain or flavored)
  • 2 slices cheddar or gouda cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons butter or garlic herb butter

Optional toppings:

  • Crispy bacon strips
  • Caramelized onions
  • Sliced jalapeños
  • Strawberry slices or jam
  • Honey drizzle
  • Chopped chives or fresh herbs

Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat for 3–4 minutes.
  2. Spread 2 tablespoons of cream cheese on one side of each slice of bread.
  3. Add your desired toppings or extra cheese.
  4. Close the sandwich and butter the outer sides of the bread.
  5. Place the sandwich on the skillet. Grill for 3–4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
