For the Steak Patties:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Gravy:
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/2 large onion, thinly sliced
- 1 cup mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
- Form into 4 oval patties.
- Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat. Sear patties 3–4 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter. Add onions and mushrooms; cook until softened.
- Stir in flour to make a roux. Slowly whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire, and garlic powder. Simmer until slightly thickened.
- Return patties to the skillet. Spoon gravy over top. Cover and simmer on low for 15–20 minutes until patties are cooked through.
- Serve hot with sides like mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
