Description
This garlic butter thin chicken breast recipe is quick, juicy, and bursting with flavor. Perfect for a 20-minute weeknight dinner, it’s made with just a handful of simple ingredients and a single skillet.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 thin sliced boneless chicken breasts
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped (or ½ tsp dried parsley)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional, for searing)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice (optional, for extra flavor)
Instructions
- Bring chicken breasts to room temperature. Pat them dry and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon butter (and olive oil if using).
- Add chicken breasts to the skillet. Sear for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Reduce heat to low. Add remaining butter and minced garlic. Sauté for 30–60 seconds until fragrant, spooning the butter over the chicken.
- Turn off heat, sprinkle parsley and lemon juice over the top (if using). Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra tenderness, lightly pound the chicken before cooking.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet—cook in batches if necessary.
- Pairs perfectly with steamed vegetables, mashed potatoes, or salad.
- Can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for 2 months.
- Use ghee or avocado oil for a dairy-free variation.
