This tremendous cheesy pepperoni stromboli combines golden-brown crust, gooey mozzarella cheese, and spicy pepperoni for the ultimate comfort food. Perfect for dinners, parties, or cozy nights in!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup sliced pepperoni (or halal turkey pepperoni for a Muslim-friendly option)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
  • Optional: grated Parmesan, garlic powder, or red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle (approximately 12×16 inches) on a floured surface.
  • Spread the marinara sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border around the edges.
  • Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese, followed by the sliced pepperoni and Italian seasoning.
  • Roll the dough tightly from one short edge to the other, forming a log. Pinch the seams and tuck the edges to seal.
  • Transfer the log to a parchment-lined baking sheet, seam-side down.
  • Brush the top with beaten egg and sprinkle with grated Parmesan or garlic powder if desired.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown.
  • Allow the stromboli to cool for 5 minutes before slicing into 1-inch pieces.
  • Serve with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • Avoid overfilling to prevent leaks during baking.
  • Customize with different fillings like cooked sausage, vegetables, or other cheeses.
  • Stromboli can be frozen unbaked or baked. If freezing, adjust the bake time accordingly.
