Ingredients

1 can (14–15 oz) salmon, drained and flaked

1 large egg

½ cup breadcrumbs (or almond flour, oat flour, or crushed crackers)

¼ cup finely chopped onion

1 tsp garlic powder

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional)

1–2 tbsp olive oil (for pan-frying)

Instructions

Drain the canned salmon and flake it into a medium-sized bowl using a fork.

Add the egg, breadcrumbs (or alternative), chopped onion, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and any optional ingredients.

Gently mix everything together until combined—do not overmix.

Divide the mixture and shape into 4–6 round patties, about ½-inch thick.

(Optional) Chill patties in the fridge for 15–20 minutes to help them firm up.

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Pan-fry each patty for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.

Remove from heat and let rest on a paper towel for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Breadcrumb Alternatives: Use almond flour, oat flour, cooked quinoa, or mashed sweet potato if preferred.

Storage Tips: Store cooked patties in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.

Reheating: Reheat in skillet, oven, or air fryer for best texture—avoid microwave for optimal crispness.

Serving Ideas: Great with coleslaw, green salad, sweet potato fries, or lemon dill sauce.
